The Giraffe House Wildlife Awareness centre provides easy access to some of Africa’s wonderful wildlife and bird species. Focusing on African wildlife, Giraffe House aims to provide a place for people to enjoy the outdoors, whilst experiencing and learning about animals and why they are special. An important member of their team is Gerry, a hand reared giraffe. At Giraffe House the focus is primarily education, providing an inter-active learning experience about animals, insects, reptiles, spiders and which will have the child in you enthralled. Here you will get to see Giraffe, Eland, Zebra, Vervet Monkeys, Meerkat, Springbok, Grysbok, Tortoises, Ostrich and Nile Crocodile and a fabulous variety of birds which include, Fischer’s Lovebird, Black-cheeked Lovebird, Ruppell’s Parrot, Senegal Parrot, Red-fronted Parrot, Yellow-billed Duck, Cape Teal and many more. Daily animal encounters are at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. The Giraffe House will also do guided tours on request and must be arranged in advance.
