The farm is situated at the foot of the Helderberg Mountain. Interestingly, the name “Helderberg” translates into Clear Mountain. Visitors can expect to encounter indigenous wildlife on the farm. Visiting birdwatchers have sighted over 100 different species of bird. The farm is home to one of the biggest Mountain Candlewood trees in South Africa which is easily accessed from the hiking trail. Granny’s Forest offers a variety of picnic and braai sites which can cater for up to 200 people. Bookings are essential. Rustic Farm Weddings as well as live entertainment in the amphitheater are both popular attractions of Granny’s Forest. Helderberg Farm is 12 km from Stellenbosch and we would recommend you to spend the day there. It is worth the visit and so beautiful.
